LAR Session June 1st 2025 – January 11th 2026 – Anna Guevara
Life Above Reproach Discipleship Program is the class to take if you want to learn and grow spiritually no matter where you are in your walk with God. I think this class is a must. The Bible says to go and make disciples of all nations and I figure, why not start here at home? All believers need to know the Bible so well that they can recognize the truth from the deception.
I have been reading the Bible for years prior to taking this class, but now the Word of God has impacted my life even more and I must be in the His Word every day. It’s just like the Bible says, the Word is nourishment for our soul. I need His guidance. I need His correction. He is my lifeline! I can’t put into words what I mean, but what I can say is that I pay more attention to what I am reading. I check myself by asking, “Am I doing what He says or what I want?” Then I find myself doing research, so I get the understanding from the context of the chapter.
Or He checks me! When reading the Bible, His Word points to areas in my life that need correction. I find that I need to repent or apology to someone or both. It’s not easy! I have also noticed the way I think is changing. When situations arise, I think about the spiritual way of handing them more than I did before. For most of the time I get caught off guard and my first reaction is not spiritual, but then I quickly realize to take it to the Lord. I know I am far from perfect, but I want to learn! And I want to change! All of this takes time, but I know “I am a work in progress” as I continue my journey.
So, in closing, I cannot stress the importance of reading the Word of God. Age doesn’t matter whether you are over 70 or under 10 or have been a believer for many, many years or a new believer, we all need to know God more! We will grow in the knowledge of God and His character. Our relationship with Him will be more solid. We will trust more, believe more, be confident more, be bold more, knowing He always has our backs. We will speak God’s truth to those who need to hear. So, I encourage you, if not already doing it, to set a time in your day every day and commit to reading the Bible and to spend time with Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and He will. Do the research. It’s all good!
God bless you all!
